BOUGHTON HOUSE CELEBRATES SUCCESS AT INAUGURAL NORTHAMPTONSHIRE TOURISM BUSINESS AWARDS

Boughton House has been named Small Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Northamptonshire Tourism Awards, recognising the estate’s growing reputation as one of the country’s leading cultural and heritage destinations.

The award was presented on Friday 27th February at Silverstone Museum, where businesses and individuals from across the Northamptonshire gathered to celebrate the organisations, attractions and people who help make the county such a vibrant and welcoming visitor destination.

Sam Rees, Estate Manager said: ‘it is an honour to have won this award and receive recognition within the local area. Boughton House offers visitors a variety of experiences throughout the year, from historic house and art tours to family events and summer festivals, there really is something for everyone.’

Boughton House’s commitment to conservation and the environment were also highlighted in the award submission, with particular reference to the recent restoration of the magnificent Louis Chéron painted ceilings and roof works. The works on Star Pond bring together both elements; with their sympathetic restoration and attention to nature and biodiversity offering visitors a further glimpse into the past while protecting the environment for the future.

Often called the English Versailles, Boughton House sits within the heart of Northamptonshire and is part of the wider Boughton Estate, a working estate supporting agriculture, forestry and rural property.

Visitors can book tours of Boughton House between 4th and 6th April and join in the Easter fun from 28th March to 9th March. Details can be found at boughtonhouse.co.uk or follow Boughton House and Estate on Facebook, or @Boughton_house_official on Instagram.
