Through its dedicated Visitor Services team and the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust, we manage a varied tourism portfolio comprising retail, cafes, built and natural heritage, gardens, culture, events, outdoor activities and field sports. Our tourism business activities contribute significantly to the wider marketing and success of Britain’s tourism industry.
The five star visitor attraction status, awarded by VisitScotland to Bowhill House and to Drumlanrig Castle, is testament to the world-class experience our team deliver. We know this commitment to excellence will convert new and repeat visitors and grow the commercial yields from each property and Estate.
Buccleuch is continually improving our visitor facilities through investment in infrastructure such as the £7million investment in Dalkeith Country Park and Restoration Yard which opened in July 2016 and Crawick Multiverse which opened in June 2015.
We are also committed to developing and programming events on our Estates that are imaginative, educationally rewarding and culturally enriching.
Our Visitor Services teams work closely with local tourism groups and businesses to develop partnership initiatives where we can join-up efforts around marketing and product propositions. Tourism is the lifeblood of many rural economies, especially in the south of Scotland, and we are acutely aware of the vital role our properties and Estates play in attracting visitors into these areas.
