GALLOWAY COUNTRY FAIR 2024

TV personality Chloe Fuller appeared with her Super Spaniels, showcasing assistance dogs performing essential tasks. Sponsored by Lloyd Ltd, the Main Ring also featured Ollie’s Equestrian with trick riding and dressage, the Drakes of Hazard with skilled dogs and Indian Runner Ducks, and the chance for the public to get involved! The BMX Show had thrilling stunts, and the fun and informative falconry displays didn’t disappoint. Drums ‘n’ Roses provided a memorable end to Saturday’s events. Sunday included the popular Dog Show with a new puppy category, Highland dancers from Lynette Turner School of Highland Dancing, and gundog trainer Adrian Slater demonstrating in the main ring. 

Visitors enjoyed the Bay.Wa sponsored food and craft marquee with local crafts, produce, and quality products. There were also trade stands around the showground. 

The Fair was a delight for food lovers, featuring local producers in the food marquee and various catering stands. The Demo Kitchen hosted demonstrations by local chefs, including Nick Morris from Station House Cookery School, and the Queensberry Estates very own executive chef, Gordon Graham. 

Dog lovers enjoyed the dog-friendly event with great attendance at the Dog Show on Sunday, the ever-popular gundog scurry pulling in the crowds, Spaniel, and Retriever tests run by Galloway Gundogs, and a new pet photo stand by Pipscape photography. 

Field sports included clay pigeon shooting sponsored by Roxtons, air rifle shooting, fly-fishing masterclasses, and 4×4 driving experiences with Lloyd Ltd. 

Activities around the event included the Reigart sponsored free children’s entertainment area, Scottish Assault Courses, and short carriage rides with the Blackstone Clydesdales.
