In addition to such "listed" buildings as Drumlanrig Castle, Bowhill, Boughton, Branxholm, Eildon Hall and 350 smaller houses or steadings, there are 1,000 structures, including bridges, to maintain. Many of these are listed buildings and often in areas with special landscape qualities. This huge task requires the extensive range of traditional and modern building skills to be found in Buccleuch Building Services.

Some work is contracted out to local builders, as was the case with the reconstruction of Bowhill over a period of more than 8 years.
